Fuel Policy and Refuelling Options
General Fuel Policy
Please note that Hertz rates do not include fuel. To ensure a smooth experience, all Hertz vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel at the start of the rental.
Returning the Vehicle
You are expected to return the vehicle with a full tank.
- Refuelling Charge: If the vehicle is returned with less than a full tank, a local refuelling service charge will apply in addition to the cost of the missing fuel.
- Calculation: The minimum quantity of missing fuel subject to a charge is 1/8 of the tank's capacity.
- Rates: The missing fuel is charged at a rate of €6.05 per litre (including tax).
Fuel Purchase Option (FPO)
For your convenience and to save time, you may choose the Fuel Purchase Option (FPO) at the start of your rental:
- How it works: You purchase a full tank of fuel from Hertz at a price competitive with local fuel stations.
- Benefits: This allows you to return the vehicle without needing to find a gas station before drop-off.
- Important: Please be aware that Hertz is unable to provide refunds for any unused fuel remaining in the tank upon return.
