1. Immediate Actions
- Safety first: Ensure there are no injured persons.
- Emergency services: If there are injuries, immediately call the emergency number 112.
- Document the scene: You must take photos of the vehicles and the accident circumstances at the scene.
2. Filing an Accident Declaration
If no one is injured and all parties agree on the circumstances, you must complete an accident declaration.
- Formats: You can fill out a paper form or an online version at www.draudimoivykiai.lt.
- Required Details: You can find the policyholder's (Insurer's) details in the vehicle’s registration document or on the insurance certificate.
- Electronic Submission: If filling out an electronic declaration, you must save it and send it to us via email: prieziura@hertz.lt
3. When to Call the Police
You are required to call the police if:
- There are injured persons.
- Parties do not agree on the accident circumstances.
- Third-party property has been damaged.
- There are suspicions of intoxication or other violations.
4. Roadside Assistance
If the vehicle cannot be safely operated after the accident, please contact Hertz Technical Assistance at: +370 611 15000.
Reporting the Incident to Hertz
You must inform Hertz about the incident no later than within 1 working day via email: prieziura@hertz.lt
Please provide the following documents in your report:
- The vehicle registration certificate.
- Photos of the accident and the vehicle.
- The completed accident declaration or a police report.
- A brief description of the incident (free format).
- A copy of the driver's license.
Repairs After the Incident
Hertz organizes all processes related to vehicle repairs, including:
- Registering the claim with the insurance company.
- Coordinating the scope of work and cost estimates.
- Organizing the vehicle repair.
- Providing a replacement car if necessary (subject to the terms of your rental agreement).
