If you return your vehicle after the agreed return time, a late return fee may apply.
Grace period: Hertz allows a short grace period of up to 29 minutes after your scheduled return time. Returns after this period will be charged for an additional rental day at the applicable daily rate.
What to do if you need more time:
- Contact your nearest Hertz location as soon as possible
- Our team will do their best to extend your reservation subject to vehicle availability
- Extensions are not guaranteed, particularly during peak periods
To avoid late return charges:
- Plan your journey back with enough time
- Contact us in advance if you know you will be delayed
